Accessibility
This website has been created following the guidelines set out in the W3C WCAG 2.0 Priority AA recommendations. Below are some of the things we have done to improve accessibility:
Text Alternatives
- Non-text content has been kept to a minimum and text alternatives to all non-text content have been provided.
- To help readability, a facility to resize the text and to change the contrast of all pages has been included. In addition to this, you can also use the text or page zoom functionality included in your browser.
- The site will function without JavaScript enabled.
Adaptable
- The content and structure of the site is in a logical order that allows content to be displayed well when linearised. This is important when accessing the site using non-graphical browsers.
- Where appropriate, we have included titles and descriptions to help convey meaning and semantics.
Distinguishable
- Presentation of text and imagery has a good contrast ratio.
- A control has been included to further increase the contrast if required.
- Style has been separated from structure.
Navigable
- A bypass link has been included for those using non-graphical browsers. This enables the skipping of repeated navigation when moving from page to page.
- A site map has been included to allow an alternative route to content.
- The site has been structured to allow a logical focus order and can be controlled without a pointing device.
- The keyboard focus indicator is visible.
Valid XHTML and CSS
- The website has been developed using web standards.
- The XHTML and CSS used in thirstiest has been validated using the W3C's validators.
